Welcome to Dunes Eye Consultants

Diabetic retinopathy affects up to 80% of patients who have had diabetes for 10 years or more. Research indicates that at least 90% of these cases could be helped with early detection, proper treatment and regular eye exams.
Are You At Risk for Glaucoma
Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness after cataracts worldwide. It is the first leading cause of blindness among African Americans. Glaucoma affects 1 in 200 people aged 50 and younger and 1 in 10 over the age of 80.
There are two types of macular degeneration: "dry" and "wet". In dry macular degeneration, the most common form, the deterioration of the macula leads to thinning of the macular tissue and progressive loss of vision. Dry macular degeneration tends to be slow. Unfortunately, no treatment is available for this type of degeneration.
Suffering from Dry Eye?
Dry eye is normally caused by a problem with the tear film that lubricates the eye. Symptoms include itching, burning, irritation, redness, blurred vision improved by blinking and/or excessive tearing. Dunes Eye Consultants can help alleviate the symptoms.
